Why Not WydenThere are quite a few brains left in the United States Congress, although it seems that most of them are members of the Democratic Party. Well, lets be fair, there is always Ron Paul; a man that is almost alienated by is totally misguided party and often finds himself working with Democrats. Senator Robert Wyden, the Democrat from Oregon, has a brilliant idea involving online casinos. The new bill that he has proposed would answer at least two major problems that have surfaced in current events. Senator Wyden has proposed not only passing Barney Franks HR 2267 bill that will legalize online casinos, but using the revenue from the multibillion dollar industry to fund the universal health care reform the President Barack Obama has been trying so desperately to pass. President Obama would like the United States to have a health care plan that is similar to the NHC system that is provided to the citizens of the United Kingdom. Opponents, in between breaths of calling the noble attempt a Nazi policy, are also asking where all of the money would come from for such a reform. It is absolutely no secret that online casinos would bring in billions of dollars every year to federal coffers. Estimates show that regulated and taxed online casinos could generate as much as $6 billion each year for the federal government. Over the next ten years estimates show that the United States government could expect to receive $63 billion in tax revenue from online casinos and online gambling. |
