No Change for Online Casinos

It has been quite a few months since the transition of power from Republican to Democrat and nothing has happen to the benefit of online casinos.  It is not as if Barack Obama promised he would legalize online casinos, but the industry was hopeful that a poker playing President would be more lenient on the pastime.  Barack Obama, has been busy frying much bigger fish with health care and saving the economy.

The only promises made to online casinos and the Internet gambling industry has come from Representative Barney Frank and to his credit he seems to be moving forward with those promises.  It is, unfortunately, taking a very long time.  While online casinos what for the process the government must go through in order to change old laws and create new ones, it seems like several government bodies in the United States are making it their goal to bankrupt any company that insists on offering gambling services to Americans.

The point of attack seems to be focused on the finances of the online casino business.  There have not been many cases of online casino operators being arrested and there have been no cases of citizens using online casinos being arrest.  The unlucky bunch seem to be online gambling payment processors.  The federal government is currently considering extraditing a Canadian man for facilitating payment services for online casinos and are demanding he hand over all of the money he made through the business.  Even states are getting involved.  Maryland is trying a payment processor for money laundering even though there are no laws against online casinos currently in the Maryland legal system.
