Come Together Over Online Casinos Divide and conquer. It is an old military strategy that may end up being the downfall for online casinos. The two organizations that have been fighting the hardest for the sake of online casinos cannot seem to come eye to eye simply because of a few differences in opinion. The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association has been defending online casinos in court left and right. They even went so far as to challenge the constitutionality of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, the main law posing a threat to online casinos. Unfortunately the US 3rd District Court of Appeals flat out rejected their argument that the law was far too vague to be upheld. The Poker Player Alliance has also sought to gain regulation for online casinos, but more specifically online poker. They have gone so far as to petition the President. But these two great organizations cannot come together to fight for a common good because of one small difference. The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association has no problem defending online bookmakers. The Poker Player Alliance is completely against the online bookmakers. That small rift has forced to great organizations apart at a time when they need to come together. It is as shame that the Poker Player Alliance cannot see past such a simple difference. In the mean time investigations against online casinos and online casinos payment processors are heating up. A special task force has been assembled in the Maryland that will severely clamp down on payment processors that facilitate the business of online casinos. |
