The problem that the United States has with online casinos and online gambling in general is that they feel these sites, established by overseas companies, are sucking money out of the United States gambling industry.  If people could not get full casino action at online casinos they would be forced to use one of the many brick and mortar gambling established found in the United States. 

However if the United State would just get involved in the online gambling industry, this really would not be such a problem.  The only industry that seems to get this in the United States is the horseracing industry.  That may be because the horse racing industry has been in serious decline for years now and has a greedy eye open for ways to stay afloat.

Several states have legalized wagering online on horseracing events.  Illinois is the latest to do so.

There is a lot of money to be made off of online gambling, specifically online casinos.  That is part of the reason that Representative Barney Frank took of the banner to have the industry regulated and legalized in the United States.  The other, perhaps more important reason, is that he feels citizens should have the right to spend their hard earned money the way they see fit. 

Regulation is the only way to ensure that gamblers will be safe using online casinos.  Without regulations criminals and conmen are free to prey on unprotected consumers. Perhaps if the casino industry were as needy as the horseracing industry in the United States, online casinos would have been utilized and legalized long ago.
