Not Now Online Casinos

Local government in California has been cracking down on the illegal online casino action that has recently emerged in the state.  Undercover agents from San Diego and Stockton have discovered several establishments posing as simple Internet cafés to offer illegal online gambling services.  It is not as simple as Internet cafés allowing players to access online casinos, these cafés would pay players themselves if the they one.

Although no one is debating whether illegal online gambling is a problem that should be addressed, there are many that do not believe now is the time to address it.  It is a simple matter of believing that the State has bigger fish to fry at the moment than online casinos.

It was not to long ago that the state of California begged congress for a massive lone to meet its budget obligations.  California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared that money from the state’s school budget would be slashed.  It is fair to say that the state has more important places to devote its money and energy than focusing on online casinos.

Undercover operations take a lot of time and resources and it is not likely that the most recent events will be the last time that California law enforcement raids an Internet café.  Online casinos hardly seems like a logical priority in a state like California.  California is already bursting at the seems with legal gambling options.  California may have more legal slot machines in operation than any other location in the country; even more that Las Vegas.
