It became painfully evident that when President Barack Obama stepped into office his first few years, if not his entire term as President would be cleaning up the mess left by the Bush Administration.  Supporters of legalized online casinos celebrated his election into office, knowing that he was the best probable candidate to oversee the legalization of online casinos.

Unfortunately, it also became aware that the President was not going to be focused on online casinos.  He inherited two wars and an economic recession on a level not yet suffered by the United States.  If he was going to get around to legalizing online casinos it certainly was not going to happen for another few years.

That would have been all well and good if the Bush administration had not burned the midnight oil to get the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act implemented before he left office.  Now the banks and financial institutions are facing a December 1^st 2009 deadline to make sure their policies are in line with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Enter Barney Frank.  Congressman Frank has attempted to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act almost as soon as it was passed into law.  His first attempt failed a few years ago, due to lack of support during a Republican administration.

After the 2008 election he tried again, knowing that his legislation had a much better chance of passing into law.  He worked quickly to get a law passed that delayed the enforcement of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act so that he could have enough time to get online casinos legalized.  Unfortunately, the inherited problems of the Bush Administration is tying up the Congress and it is not likely Frank will be able to pass any online gambling laws before the enforcement of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
