No one really knows how online casinos will affect the gambling market in the United States once it is finally regulated.  There is a sound mixture of both excitement and fear.  Some believes that online casinos are the next stage in the natural evolution of gambling and brick and mortar casinos have the right to be afraid.  Others believe that once online casinos are regulated it will ignite a whole new trend of gambling being super popular and brick and mortar casinos will benefit financially from that popularity.

There is no sure fire answer, but I believe it is unlikely that online casinos will kill off brick and mortar gambling. That might have been the case decades ago when casinos were nothing more that gambling dens.  Places where people went to drink, gamble, and that was about all.  However brick and mortar casinos have evolved into so much more. 

Brick and mortar casinos have become all out entertainment complexes.  People come there, often on vacation, to gamble, shop, eat, and maybe even catch a show.  There is an entire experience associated with brick and mortar casinos that frankly online casinos simply cannot offer.  At best, online casinos can simulate the live casino experience with avatars. 

What will likely happen is that the wide accessibility of online casinos will boost the popularity of gambling once again in the United States.  New comers brought in by playing online casinos frequently will be intrigued by the full live experience of an actual casino. There is little doubt that brick and mortar casino will benefit to some degree from online casinos.
