Eyes On the French Market

The online gambling industry is very interested in France these days.  The good news is that France is effectively working toward liberating the online gambling market and lifting their ban on online casinos.  Online casinos are just focused on how soon they will be able to fight for pieces of the French Market.

There obviously is no expiration date for the Interest of the online gambling market in France, but many operators are hoping online casinos are legalized and licensed in France sooner rather than later.

The World Cup has everyone in the online gambling industry itching to get at France.  The world Cup will be held next year in South Africa.  Soccer fans are a big market in France, like most European countries.  If online casinos and online bookies can start taking legal wagers for the outcome of the tournament, there will be millions of dollars to be made.

Although online casinos were scheduled to be regulated and licensed by January of 2010, that does not look extremely likely.  It takes time for new laws to be written, drafted, and accepted.

France is not the only country moving away from online casino bans in Europe.  Some states in Germany are ready to abandon the Treaty that has tied them all to banning online casinos.  Germany has had a lot of scandal recently in its professional soccer leagues and the ban has proven ineffective at resolving these gambling related problems.

Legal online casinos in Germany and France would be great business if either of these happened before the next World Cup.
