One of the major appeals of online casinos is the autonomy which players can enjoy while playing their favorite game.  So it seems odd that anything related to racial prejudice should come up in a case related to online casinos and online gambling.

The family of three Kansas men believes that law enforcement is being way too harsh on them.  The men are being charges with contempt of court because they refused to testify to the grand jury about other people that may have been involved in a local internet gambling operation.

One of the men involved is Tom Cascone.  Cascone owns the Cascone’s Italian Restaurant.  Family members of Cascone do not believe he should be punished for refusing to give out more details about other people that may have been involved in this internet gambling operations.

“We're talking about ordering these people before a grand jury to talk about people they know,” said Jimmy Cascone, uncle of Tom Cascone.

“And if they don't then they're putting them in handcuffs and sending them to a maximum security prison.”  It is not believed that Cascone is actually facing time in a maximum security prison.

Family of Dominic Cervello, another man involved in this Internet gambling case, believe Cervelli is a victim of prejudice against Italian Americans.

“For them to lock him up, he can't see his family, he can't go to work,” said Sharon Cervello-Curd, mother of Dominic Cervello.  “I think the prosecutor is going after the Italians -- racial profiling -- and that doesn't seem fair.”
