Neighbors Regulate Online CasinosThe pressure is on for the United States as even our cold neighbors to the north are warming up to online casinos. That online casinos and online gambling will soon be legalized and regulated in British Columbia, Canada. The Internet gambling community is excited about legalized online casinos in Canada. As a matter of fact the Interactive Gaming Council has begun to celebrate their decision. “Like the B.C. Government, the IGC recognizes there are online gaming companies that operate out of poorly regulated jurisdictions,” said CEO of the Interactive Gaming Council, John Kennedy FitzGerald. “However, IGC members are licensed and strictly regulated in jurisdictions like the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Alderney, which are recognized by the United Kingdom as having the highest regulatory standards in the world. Some of these jurisdictions have been involved with regulating online gaming for nearly a decade.” The Interactive Gaming Council is anticipating a healthy working relationship with British Columbia. They believe regulation will do a lot for the online gaming industry in Canada. Not only will it provide some structure and clarity for the consumer, but it will also provide equal structure for operators, making it possible to create a thriving industry that offers very healthy tax revenues. “IGC members look forward to contributing to a vibrant online gaming community that provides an open environment for legitimate online gaming operators, while generating additional revenues to the B.C. government to fund important programs like health and education,” said a spokesman fro the Interactive Gaming Council. |
