Marcus Steps Down

Some major changes are about to take place in the upper management of William Hill Online.   William Hill is major gambling operator in the United Kingdom that offers not only online casinos but brick and mortar gambling services as well.  After only a few months in his new position, Peter Marcus has decided to step down from his position as William Hill Online chief operating officer.

Marcus’ departure is surprisingly early.  He was assigned to the position of chief operating officer when the company signed a five year deal with Playtech back in January of this year.  Playtech was contracted to develop new online casino software for William Hills online casino offerings.  Playtech is among the leading software developers for online casinos so their relationship with William Hill should be promising.  However the relationship will develop without further assistance from Marcus.  Marcus has made it clear that he intends to depart his position soon; in a matter of weeks as opposed to month.

“The reason for leaving is that we have just had a big restructure of the business and a number of the functions I manage have moved to TelAviv, and it was mutually agreed that I wasn’t interested in carrying on with fewer functions,” explained Marcus in a statement.

Last month Marcus found himself in gambling news as well when he protested rake backs.

“Networks and licensees have to find ways of rewarding loyalty which don’t encourage people to keep switching rooms or which involve stealing each other’s customers,” Marcus was reported as saying.

“It’s going to take time and be tough to get there, but the whole industry has to get together and be strict on this.”
